Unit camp at Hewish woods - day three

We woke up this morning at 7:30 by Alan "accidently" knocking all the tables over. After a quick shower and spending ages trying to get yesterday blog to work, we had a full English breakfast and I set work once again trying to get my phone to post whilst Tom and Kate played slam next to me. At around eleven o'clock after using three pieces of software and changing numerous setting I got Blogger to work (even though I don't know how I did it) just in time as Music Matt arrived. I selected a very nice saxophone shaped whistle and a broken tamborine as my instruments and we all chatted while Matt taught the brass people a bit from the terminator medley. We all sounded awesome and I will upload the videos from my computer soon.
After music we had a lunch of the masses of food left over (apparently I was wrong on day one, it was enough for the whole jamboree). We then had half an hour to clean up the building and then it was time to say goodbye :'( and leave.
Until next time...

Unit camp Hewish woods - day two

We woke up at 7:30 this morning and after having a shower and getting dressed, it was our, Kathryn's  patrol, turn to cook breakfast. After making what looked like limitless amounts of Bacon and eating it all (well not me, I had veggie sausages) we awarded the forfits for Ben and Jerry. Ben wasn't at camp so, me, who brought Jerry to camp, and Tom Kimberly who had Jerry got forfits. Tom's was to carry round a yellow handbag whereas I got (was forced to) wear a rather fetching hat.
We then prepared a packed lunch and got our coats boots etc... for a 10km walk. Below are some pictures from the walk which show the patrol, the difficulties in the path, and the VERY friendly horses.

We then got back and did some pumpkin carving the result of these are shown below.

We then had some free time before going on a treasure hunt set by Kevin and Rhys looking for chocolate coins, at the end we were also given kinder eggs. We then had some more free time and were told that we would have some V.I.P guests. We spent some time rearranging the tables several times and then drew on some Chinese lanterns, messages about the jamboree. While we waited for our guests to arrive most of us played cards except Kevin and his patrol who were cooking. When our guests (members of the Avon IST) arrived we sat down to a starter of pumpkin soup, a main of spaghetti bolonaise and various puddings including hot fudge pudding. We were given a sheet of questions to ask our guests
from which we found out that Dean live in his house which we than had to present to everyone. We then played various games which involved tipping water over peoples head and hitting them on the head with spoonsas the IST'S trickled out. When Kevin and his patrol had finished washing up we did (Ben and) Jerry which was Rhys, he got a very...colourful pair of kneehigh socks to wear as his forfit. We then all went outside to launch the lanterns.

After a bit more card playing we sat down to watch hot fuzz... but it was so scratched that we had to watch the only other appropriate film that we hadn't seen - Alvin and the chipmunks 2, the squeekwell
Until tommorow...

Unit camp at hewish woods - day one

We all arrived at 7:00 this evening (friday). After settling in and quickly hiding my duck in Garry's roll matt, we went down to collect wood. We lit a fire and did various activities including, cheat, extreme snap, playing our musical instruments oh and tying Rhys up in sellotape and leaving him outside. Kevin then arrived back from the shopping and we all helped unload what looked like enough food for the whole jamboree but will actually only last us about two days! We then mucked around a bit longer before watching a PowerPoint presentation by Kevin about the jamboree and it's site. Most of us have just filled out a questionare about what we think about the jamboree and we are now watching the new "hitch hikers guide to the galaxy".
By the way if you are reading this than my phone works because I have just typed this on it.
Until tomorrow...
SO LONG AND THANKS FOR ALL THE FISH!
