DAY TEN - 02/08/11 - CAMP IN CAMP DAY 2

We woke up quite early on camp in camp, possibly because I had a drip of water on my face because we hadn't put the tent up properly. We started to pack up our stuff and then heard the others all do flag-break. We decided that because if we went out now, we'd be late, the best course of action was to stay hidden and hope the Norwegians didn't notice. They didn't, but the girls and Rosie did. After we'd packed away all our personal kit, we went over to the giant table, to have breakfast. Our breakfast was milk and sugar, which, although tastes very nice, isn't very filling. After breakfast, we lay on the grass and chatted for a bit before I went down to the lake with some others because I couldn't find my black bag with my valuables in, and thought I might have left it there. I looked around and took some photos while some of the others (mainly from other patrols) paddled in the lake. I couldn't find it and after a while we all went back up. I looked in our tent again, to check but it wasn't there, so me and Rosie did a 'subtle walk' past the Indonesians tent and I saw that it was in there. We went up to them and asked if it was theirs and they said in, a suspicious way, they didn't know, so gave it to us.
We then all sat in the sun, chatted, sang and generally relaxed for a while, and then later on we did some riddles. At about 2:00pm, the coach to take us back to the jamboree arrived and we all got on it. It was a luxury double Decker with proper air conditioning which was very nice. Me and Kate sat downstairs with the Manchurian's while the rest of our patrol sat upstairs. After about two hours we arrived back at the jamboree site and walked back to our campsite and we were the first ones back. The second we walked in, we through all our bags into a pile and each poured a bowl of cornflakes and sugar (we were too hungry to get the milk) and spend quite a while eating.
Afterwards, I got a shower and went to give Nick my phone to charge and also went to the shop for a bit. I also went to the UK pavilion where they didn't play our video on the big screen. In the evening, our 'Street' had a street party and we all laid our tables along our path. Simon and Nick also came to visit (and steal food), we had burger and veggie sausages for dinner. We were also allowed Helmans Mayonnaise because we had Jews in our Unit and it was for the Jews only. After dinner, we did some more swapping, around the edge of winter and summer before coming back, signing in and going to bed.

Kathryn, our unit leader who sadly was unable to come to the Jamboree, sent an email round every day about what our unit had been doing from what Kev and other leaders/IST had texted her. You can find what she said about this day below:

"Good morning everyone
The four different patrols all had a great time on camp within a camp,  they all had different experiences some went canoeing, craft activities, swimming in a lake, singing around a campfire and lots of mixing.  All the young people enjoyed being away from the site and having some quieter times on a smaller camp site mixing with other people from other countries, lots to them enjoyed the trip there and back on the coach as well as they all caught up on their sleep.

When they got back from Camp, it was a lovely sunny day on camp and so there was more washing done which led into a water fight everyone got together to chat about the fun they they all had.  For many of the young people they said that this was the best experience so far of the adventure.

In the evening they all had tea, got organised and socialised together and just enjoyed being back together and being in the sunshine.
